I work in the luxury industry and we had a customer with a mirror copy of a Birkin 30 come in. She said she paid $2200 USD, she ordered it from a factory who makes these. I thought it was crazy but like she said even though it was $2200 she saved $20,000 and she has the $ to buy Auth, in fact she owns several. She told us she would never buy real again because this factory makes the spot on to the og. Hers was so good our 2 authenticators couldn’t find a difference. And yes even the smell was spot on. Scary for those of us who own authentics- or are they?!?!?‍♂️

I used to work for a luxury house and I thought I can spot a fake a mile away. So a year ago, I bought a “lushentic” grade 30 cm birkin just for the kicks, and I was dumbstruck by how it looks, feels and smells like the real thing! The leather is luxurious, the handles are perfect, the stamping is spot on, I even used a loupe to check for bleeding but it was really, really clean. The stitching is handmade, the feet and the rivets in the plaque are hammered not glued, the sangles are correct size and length. I asked my a friend who has a collection to check mine, I didn’t told her at first that it was fake and she said “yeah, it’s legit.” LoL! Literally blows her mind when i told her it’s fake, she was like “Noooooo, there’s no way in hell?!!!!” ?

I literally go in the Gucci, Chanel, YSL stores just to find one I like, I leave, then I just go online and buy a $500 1:1 replica of it. Its really really hard for me to pay thousands more when the high end replicas are made from the same exact materials, looks exactly the same, and made exactly the same. And I want to note that the replicas are STILL very expensive compared to places like michael kors .

Yes love this video! Do it – get one of these bags! Apparently, there was a case of LV selling a fake to a customer and now Hermes has been accused of the same thing! The LV case settled with the customer so we don’t know exactly what happened but it could have been as you say someone returning a fake in place of the real thing. In the case of Hermes, allegedly it was an employee swapping the real ones for fakes and nobody noticing for like 9 years. LOL!

Hi Michelle, I would love to see a video on your comparison of a replica versus the real deal. At this point in time I have been very tempted to switch over to purchasing replicas just because of the quality and availability issues of these bags. Also the price hikes are ridiculous for what they are selling. I have sold off most of my Louis Vuitton Chanel and other designer bags and have kept a handful of classics for my collection. I have switched over to more contemporary brands and I am so much happier and feel so much more economically responsible than I did when I was going out and buying the latest bag released. It’s definitely an addictive cycle and I’ve reached a point in my life where it makes no sense to be doing that type of shopping any longer. When I look back, it makes me sick to think of all the money I wasted buying the latest and greatest bag and spending thousands of dollars doing so. I would end up wearing the bag for a couple of months and then wanting the next new item. So glad I am over that stage of my life and now live with a hefty savings account and a few classic high-end bags mixed with my contemporary collection. Thank you for all your videos they are so helpful

Hi ! Love your content… yes it would be cool if you could compare the authentic to the mirror copies . But I have to say once I saw a Birkin and was shocked how authentic it looked and felt .I think it was USD$550 or so. It was claimed that the leather is genuine , how true I really don’t know as there are different types of genuine leathers in the market. The fakes have certainly come a long way. I actually think it boils down to priorities … would I pay $25k for an authentic Birkin or $550 for a mirror copy? If one is very happy to carry a mirror copy and ends up saving $24450 and is able to save for a rainy day, then there is no right or wrong here. The problem is that the greed in these fashion houses have gone way overboard!!!

This is so interesting! I have a few authenticated luxury handbags from the TRR (LV, Prada, Burberry) and haven’t wanted to buy a replica. But I 100% understand wanting to buy a replica Birkin or Chanel. One reason I prefer buying vintage is the quality. Newer collections have fallen in quality so drastically, I don’t see the point in spending thousands of dollars. The quality of a ten year old bag is still excellent.

While I do buy authentic, I can see the benefits of buying replicas for some items. well… i’ve bought real bags and replicas. it’s a big market and not quite transparent – there r certainly different quality items at different price points, so i get what they say about the thrill of the hunt. i got my first replica without knowing it – i thought i was buying a second hand bag and it was only after a friend suggested that i authenticate it that i found out it was a fake! i think people trying to pass replicas off as the real thing to unsuspecting consumers r really problematic – it really ruins the market for second hand bags, which is such a shame. i eventually bought myself a lindy 30 without the logo (would that be a dupe instead?) and for USD 60 … the quality was amazing, bc i guess i liked the style of the bag and would NEVER care for the hermes “journey”. IMH i’d rather pay the artisans in china making the bags direct rather than giving my money to a luxury house. haha to each their own!!

The replicas are really good these days. Especially Hermes. To be honest, a birkin or a Kelly at the end of the day, is really just a simple bag to make.. so it’s not that hard to make it perfectly like the authentic. I have connections to get them, and some places in China truly source the same leather, they hand stitch them, have all the same packaging, can customize them for you, takes a month to make it… so it still is a chase.. but no games like a Hermes. I say it’s a win. I own a couple and I’m not ashamed. I’ll save the 20,000 plus per bag and use it for my children and trips instead.

Can you please do a comparaison of the replica and the real, I will never be mad at you for choosing a replica because they are just as a high quality as the real ones, I owned a replica before I got it from Turkey and shoking fact it was better than my original Chanel, the colors was beautiful and couldn’t beleive my eyes but it wasn’t cheap I paid $567 for it after long negotiation, I don’t speak Turkish but my friend was from Turkey she made sure they weren’t going to rip us off, that chanel bag is 11 years old now and the gold hardware is still as shiny and looks identical to the harware in my real one like ZERO difference.
